About Raw Southern California Buckwheat Blossom Honey

Bold, dark, and beautifully robust — our Buckwheat Blossom Honey is harvested from bees foraging buckwheat fields, creating one of the darkest and most nutrient-rich honeys available. Its deep flavor carries notes of molasses, warm spice, and dark caramel with a pleasantly earthy finish.

This raw, unfiltered honey is perfect for baking, BBQ sauces, marinades, herbal teas, and pairing with aged cheeses. A favorite for those who love strong, complex honeys, it adds richness and depth to both sweet and savory dishes.

This is a particularly good honey for soothing a cough or using as your daily honey dose during flu season.

Recipe Ideas

Buckwheat Honey Ginger Tea

Stir honey into hot water with fresh ginger and lemon.
The strong, earthy sweetness pairs beautifully with warming spices.

Smoky Honey BBQ Ribs

Combine buckwheat honey with tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic, and a splash of bourbon.
Brush over ribs or grilled chicken for a dark, caramelized glaze.

Dark Honey Molasses Cookies

Use buckwheat honey in place of (or in addition to) molasses for chewy, deeply flavored cookies.

Honey-Glazed Root Vegetables

Roast carrots, beets, or parsnips with olive oil, buckwheat honey, thyme, and sea salt for a sweet-savory side dish.

Buckwheat Honey Granola

Its bold flavor makes an amazing granola with nuts, seeds, and dried cherries — especially delicious with yogurt.

Aged Cheese Pairing

Drizzle over sharp cheddar, Gouda, or blue cheese.
The depth of flavor creates a beautiful contrast.

Honey-Soy Stir-Fry Sauce

Whisk honey with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil for a deeply flavored sauce that works with chicken, shrimp, or vegetables.

Dark Honey Banana Bread

Use buckwheat honey for a richer, more intense banana bread with caramel undertones.

Buckwheat Honey BBQ Baked Beans

Stir into homemade baked beans for sweetness with smoky depth — pairs great with grilled dishes.

Spiced Honey Hot Toddy

Combine honey with hot water, lemon, cinnamon, and (optional) whiskey for a warm, comforting drink.

--

Raw honey never goes bad, however it will naturally harden and crystallize over time. This is a natural process that can easily be reversed to its liquid state. Simply warm a pot of water on the stove or in the microwave. Remove the bowl and place your honey bear or jar in the warmed water until the crystals dissolve.

Raw honey is not recommended for pregnant women or infants under one year of age.
